Frankfort, KY -
It
may be cold outside, but the fishing for lunker smallmouth bass is hot this
weekend on “Kentucky
Afield” television. Join Host Tim Farmer and Burkesville resident Randall
Gibson as they float baitfish for big fish on
Dale
Hollow
Lake
. Although winter temperatures kept freezing the fishing lines, Farmer still
lands a smallmouth which would be a trophy on any angler’s wall.
“Kentucky Afield” also takes viewers
on a trip to Weisenberger Mill in
Woodford
County
. Viewers can see first-hand how fish batter mix is produced.
Finally, the “Kentucky Afield” crew
rides along with fisheries biologists as they spray
Corinth
Lake
in
Grant
County
in an attempt to rid it of shad. Too many shad in a small lake can ruin the
bluegill and bass fishing – viewers can learn the facts from department
biologists and see what it takes to fix the problem.
“Kentucky Afield,” a production of
the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, is the longest
continuously running outdoor television show in the nation. “Kentucky Afield”
airs Saturday at 8:30 p.m. Eastern time/7:30 p.m. Central time on KET
affiliates. The airtime for the Sunday repeat of the show is 4 p.m. Eastern/3
p.m. Central.
“Kentucky
Afield” television is a companion program to Kentucky
Afield magazine. To view program schedules or to subscribe to Kentucky
